Pat Pyka was associated with the aviation industry for over 30 years. A native of Brownwood, Texas, Pat graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in architecture. She had the honor of being one of the first women to earn that degree from the institution. Pat was also on the committee to initiate the licensing of interior designers in the State of Texas.
Pat began her career in aviation working for Page Gulfstream, a completion center in San Antonio, Texas. She became manager of the interior and engineering department within a few years. Page expanded and moved to Orlando, Florida. Pat decided to remain in San Antonio and opened her own business, PYKA DESIGN, INC in 1981.
During the early years, the company was strictly an interior design firm, which specialized in conceptual design, color renderings and fabric selection. The company has since grown and now provides a specialty product line for the corporate aircraft industry under the name FIBER ART, INC.
As the industry became flooded with aircraft, customers realized that they needed assistance with completions, so Pat formed PYKA COMPLETIONS, a subsidiary of PYKA DESIGN, INC. With the advent of new noise regulations around the corner, Pat was approached to handle the completions in forming PYKA AVIATION GROUP based in Florida.
Since it's inception in 1981, PYKA DESIGN, INC. has successfully been involved in more than 175 Corporate and Head of State aircraft. These aircraft ranged from a Boeing 737-300 for the Government of Thailand to Boeing 747's for the Government of Japan.
Pat was loved and well respected by everyone in the aviation industry. FIBER ART, INC., her employees and the customers she served were her love and passion. It was Pat's dream to grow FIBER ART, INC. into a leading fabricator of composite components in the aviation industry. Pat's efforts insured that a knowledgeable and well diversified management team is in place at FIBER ART, INC. to continue servicing our customers' needs. Business will carry-on as usual at FIBER ART, INC.
